We dont take alot of trips, ( Im a bit niave I guess!!! and like to take people for face value) and now this extra $700.00 has really cut into our budget.
I advertised looking to buy tickets on a Nascar forum...this man emailed me telling me that he had 2 tickets ...that they couldnt use...after having many several conversations with the man...I felt comfortable sending him a money order, for the funds. Of course , at that time the tickets were not printed yet, ( or being circulated) I understand they are comming out now, and lots of people have the tickets in hand now ( if I had waited...I could of had the tickets couriered to me C.O.D. ) Which I think would of probably protected me .
But I guess I panicked, and really wanted to have those tickets under the christmas tree....and, didnt really want to deal with scalpers....but I have been scalped anyways. Should of stuck with the scalpers...I guess.
I too have bought tickets on ebay the last couple years. I always pay by paypal and only bid if the seller has good feedback. I hope that you didn't get scammed and you get the tickets. Maybe next time try ebay, or one of the other alternatives mentioned. We have also bought tickets while in Daytona, and the closer to the race (read hour/minutes before the race, not days) the cheaper the tickets get. We just can't chance that anymore since we need 4 tickets. It was never a problem with two tickets, though. Good luck.
After we did the transaction, and I sent the money...I noticed afterwards, from a nascar forum that sells tickets at face value. Someone has posted his name , telling all buyers and sellers all to ...Beware..... I have taken the oppurtunity to talk to some of other people, since then, that this man has dealt with...and they all are having problems.
Also, Just wondering. does anyone know about the process in which Daytona mails out thier tickets. I have noticed on ebay, allot of the sellers have thier tickets in hand now. Are they getting them out early this year?
